Free Early Education Entitlement

Children attending Moorlands School may be eligible to receive the Free Early Education Entitlement, in term time. The first 15 hours of Early Years Foundation Stage are delivered completely free of charge.

Children are eligible in the term after he/she turns 3 years of age. The final payment will be in the term in which he/she turns 5 years of age.

The child must have started the school by a given cut off date, which is usually within the first week of each term.

To allow us to provide appropriate staffing levels, the number of sessions attended can be increased at any time with notice, if the school has space, but the school can not reduce the number of sessions once parents have committed to them.

For those children attending for more than the hours covered by FEEE, termly school fees are based on the additional hours that children will be attending and your child’s access to:

  • An enhanced Early Years curriculum i.e Forest Schools, Swimming, Dance.
  • Specialist teaching in Music, Drama, French and Physical Education
  • Visiting specialists and speakers
  • Cooked lunch
  • Afternoon snack (3pm)

And access to :

  • Before school care including breakfast 7.30am-8.00am
  • After school care from 4pm including a light tea
  • Educational visits (off site)
  • Club activities run by external providers

Morning sessions are from 8am-1pm (equivalent to 1 session) which includes a cooked lunch.

Full days are from 8am-4pm (equivalent to 2 sessions)

For parents wishing to access the 15 hours funded entitlement only, we are able to offer this over 3 mornings (8am-1pm), available between Monday and Thursday. The cost of this is fully met by the 15 hours entitlement. Wrap around care is not available for parents requiring this option. A cooked lunch is available at a charge of £120 per term.

From September 2017, eligible parents will also be able to access the Government’s 30 hours FEEE per week, during term time. Unlike the 15 hours FEEE, which is universal, the 30 hours additional funding has eligibility requirements and parents will have to apply for it via the Government’s Childcare Choices website.

For parents wishing to access the 30 hour funded entitlement only, this is offered over 5 mornings. This would be between 8am to 2pm. The cost of this is fully met by the 30 hours entitlement. Wrap around care is not available for parents requiring this option. A cooked lunch is available at a separate charge of £200 per term.

There are limited places, at the discretion of the school.
